The most frightening development of this century has been something few speak of; it goes beyond the headlines, way past the rhetoric. It speaks to who we are increasingly because this fright blankets everything, like it or not, because of our inability to understand truth anymore.
Lies. A weapon so powerful that destruction of persons, towns, and nations suffered. America is drowning in lies. Those of us lied to have identified liers, and over time have suffered them in trying to open minds and eyes to see lies as they are.
At times, it seems we have failed. But for the sake of our future, one more try is warranted.
Definition of a Lie (let’s go with Merriam-Webster’s Definition under ‘Big Lie’):
a deliberate gross distortion of the truth used especially as a propaganda tactic
How appropriate: propaganda passing as ‘news’ in alliance with a group. That sounds like the distortions we see and hear (if we choose) by the talking heads of TV. Just today (05 August 2016) a report touted a ‘wave of applause’ from Hispanic and Black TV Journalists who were conversant in Mrs.Clinton’s audience; however, other media were banned from speaking. In my 39 years in journalism and media the Golden Rule was to NEVER applaud a politician openly. It smacks of favoritism; it fuels distorted views. We’re rampant with that.
Of course, we also have the Big Lie of the week, and the lies keep twisting and turning. How anyone can vie for high office having done this tells me those who support such liars have no clue who this person is, deliberately, and no idea what their approval of lies is doing to destroy the political process and the nation. I submit this as recent evidence: [Source, as of this printing: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016/08/04/judge-napolitano-why-hillary-clinton-continues-to-be-queen-deception.html ]

Now, in light of these deductions, observations and evidences told by both ‘sides’, let’s define truth with the Merriam-Webster Learners Dictionary:
the truth : the real facts about something : the things that are true
In a society that has more virtual reality than organic feet on the ground, I get that the mind will accept visual and audible stimulation as either truth (untested) or eventually as a reality (by continual repetition of such sight and sound so as to erase previously held thoughts).
No repetition, no mind control or mantra can change fact. Such tactics change you. Truth and Fact are not subjective, they are concrete. They stand the test of time far longer than our lives do and way past our preferences or beliefs. They stem from an Omnipotent place in the universe which is constant, pure and right.
Why believe lies? Does it really suit you better than the truth? All lies do is cause division, struggle and hate. Evidence is all around us: certain ‘lives’ matter over others, why? Should any one class have more privilege? Does reversing perceived privilege constitute right, when so many believers of the lie prop up the most privileged?
From my own experience, having started my career in Radio breaking rules so that all artists were given equal airplay and treatment, to working alongside minority and liberal groups to help break poverty and lift up the downtrodden, there were times I was severely disadvantaged in my talent where EEO rules promoted others by an imposed ‘quota’. It was a sacrifice worth enduring, at that time.
Today, the nefarious among us – those with an agenda to lie, tear down, and destroy – infiltrated vast numbers of organizations, the media at large, and just about every other human endeavour to take the decades of hard work bringing the nations together down in smouldering embers.
I will not do ‘destroy’. I am programmed to rebuild. I seek rebuilders, and will support them as they support me. Not afraid to reach out, mend, work and support; knowing our goal is a healed nation, and in hope, a vibrant one. Two men in the race for leading this nation are true builders and rebuilders, with proven accomplishments the other contenders cannot match.
Truth supports justice, and justice will be the healing balm of eventual peace.
This lie, this generation of lies, has produced nothing redeeming; there are remnants of truth still piercing these dark days, but with great effort and difficulty.
Truth can take a backstep to the current day if we let it, and all who do will pay a price much higher than their own deceptions.
One enduring truth, a piece of volumes, promises blessing to those who uphold: [Source: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+94&version=NIV ]
Another truth is written and sung by one of my favourite bands, Sly & The Family Stone, and it’s my truth tune:
I stand with Donald Trump and Mike Pence, the outsiders that America is gathering around. Stand with us, those who are rebuilders. The truth sets us free.
